Activated alumina ball
, to be used as absorbent,desiccant and catalyst carrier. It is alsoa kind of trace water desiccant and pole-molecule absorbent,according to the absorbed molecule polarization,the attachment force is strong for water,oxide,acetic acid,alkali etc.
Activated alumina defluorinates just as the anion exchange resin,but the selectivity is much strong. The defluorination effect of the activated alumina is goog. The capacity is stable. It has high strength,low abrasion, no soften in water,no expansion,no powdery no crack. It can widely used in deep drying of cracked gas,ethylene and propylene,hydrogen-generation,air seperation,instrument air drying and fluorine treatment for H2O2, also in the absorbing pollution material,especially in the drinking water defluorination.
Desiccant
Use as a desiccant, it works by a process called adsorption. The water in the air actually sticks to the alumina itself in between the tiny passages, as the air passes through them. The water molecules become trapped so that the air is dried out as it passes through the filter. This process is reversible, and if the alumina desiccant is heated to about 200°C it will release all of the water stored in it. This process is called regenerating the desiccant.
