Low-viscosity emulsion polymers for drilling fluid a kind of multiple emulsion copolymers(PL) of vinyl monomers. It can be dissolved in water quickly and used in salt water base drilling fluids, even saturated water drilling fluids. PL not only has obtained national invention patent and has been appraised as Hi-Tech product, but also have passed China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation’s (Sinopec Corp.) and China National Petroleum Corporation’s (CNPC) product quality certification.
With small effect on the viscosity of drilling fluid, PL can control the API filtration loss and the lubricity of drilling fluid, but keeping the characters of polymer fluids. It has advantages of high effeciency, adding less and it is one of key additives for water base drilling fluid.
